India: Javed Akhtar addressed the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam that left 26 tourists dead, attributing the violence to ongoing tensions with Pakistan.
Speaking on the incident, Akhtar emphasized that every Indian government, from Congress to BJP, has attempted peace talks with Pakistan, referencing Atal Bihari Vajpayee's visit to the country.
Akhtar questioned Pakistan’s sincerity in fostering peace, citing their actions after Vajpayee’s visit and the refusal to accept dead bodies of their own soldiers from the Kargil war. “Is this what they call friendship?” he asked, criticizing Pakistan’s lack of cooperation.
